DIFFERENTIAL TUITION
Dr. Latanich discussed the differential tuition. It
was originally established to attract faculty here to
ASU and to retain faculty that may want to leave.
Dr. Latanich commented that if this is permanent, it
is a mistake:
1) Market Average – does the faculty have the
ability to get it? Do they want to go in the market?
Negotiate – what does it take to keep you?
Allocate as you see fit.
Enrollment could plummet and monies decrease.
Treat as Productivity Bonus.
Dr. Dancer - zero from differential tuition. So if
he publishes a book and a few journal articles this
year, then Dr. Frey commented that he would be re-evaluated.
New hires and PhD’s are permanent per Dr. Latanich
– then $100,000 will deplete quickly.
Set up Faculty Meeting on this during Finals Week –
Dead Day
UPDATED REPORT ON BUDGET
$102,000 has been cut out of the COB – Done. Dr.
Allen stated that they were not going to take the whole
amount but will allocate some of this back to the College.
Give $25,000 back and use this to put Tina back on the
University and get off of tuition differential. As of
today, we’re not getting that money back.

INDIRECT COST ALLOCATION ON POLICY PROPOSAL
A proposal was put forth today by Beth Hood and supported
by Carol Cramer. Dr. Frey discussed this with the Executive
Committee. Half based on expenditures and half based
on revenues. Only one who will benefit will be ABI.
CLASSROOM DOORS UPDATE
Dr. Frey talked to Rusty Stroud from plant maintenance,
and he put together different proposals to have automatic
locking doors. In order to do this, it would cost $200
per door. It was also suggested that we replace the
exterior lobby doors - $8700. To install theft resistant
projector mounts – cost $350.
We can’t justify this unless we can get the money
– so please tell everyone to lock the doors.
