EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Dr. Roe called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. This was a special meeting called and involved only the Department Chairs and Dr. Roe convened the meeting.

PROCESS FOR MERIT EVALUATIONS
The process for merit evaluations was discussed. It was discussed that the quality level of journals is not identified. Therefore, the chairs are to compile a Tier 1 and Tier 2 List of journals in their respective disciplines.

CHAIRS PROVIDE MERIT MATERIALS TO DEAN
Chairs are to provide their Summary of Professional Activities to Dean Duggar by Monday, February 18, 2002.

FALL 2002 REASSIGNMENT REQUESTS DUE IN AA BY FEBRUARY 11TH
All the 2002 Reassignment requests are in the Dean’s office (competitive ones as well). These are to be sent to Academic Affairs today.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
The emergency procedures for the college were discussed as there was an incident last week of two students who were in wheelchairs and one could not get on the elevator to get to class and one could not get down from the third floor because the elevator wasn’t working. Dr. Roe is having emergency procedures sent over from Jennifer Rice Mason, Director of Disability Services.

TEXTBOOK PROBLEMS FOR OFF-SITE COURSES

West Memphis was out of books for a couple of weeks and no one here knew about it. But as soon as we were made aware of the situation, Dr. Washam called Christy at the ASU Bookstore to find out what the process was and ordered the books. Dr. Seydel – suggested calling the sites to make sure that they have their books. Beebe is responsible for ordering their own books. The coordinator in West Memphis needs to let us know

what they need. Dr. Roe asked the chairs to let him know what book is needed and he’ll contact Karen Hopper to make sure that they have the book.

A follow-up meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 14, 2002 at 1:00 p.m.
