    FACULTY/STAFF SPRING MEETING
There are three items on the agenda for the meeting:
    The Capital Campaign
    The Horizon Institute
    Syllabus Guidelines

Dr. Bevill stated that in the Fall she would like to discuss some Advising issues. Dr. Seydel thought we were going to have a workshop on this. Dean Duggar would like to have a workshop this Spring before the Fall semester. Dr. Seydel suggested either after spring break or before spring break in March.

Fall Schedules are due in a few weeks according to Dr. Seydel.

Dean Duggar stated that he received the Salary Survey from AACSB this morning. Dean Duggar put a copy in each Department Chairs’ basket. Dean Duggar doesn’t know how equitable we are in the area of male/female salaries.

    DELTA CENTER FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Mark is working with Bill on City of Marion project.
Grant with EDA to be in Austin by January 18th. Applying for a 3 year grant instead of having to apply for a grant annually. They are In the process of starting to survey industries that they do a lot of contracts with.
Frankie Gilliam - nearing a project in Wynn.
Dr. Glen Finner - put together a new economic development program.
Use Dr. Roe’s class to do a project for Strategic Planning for the New Horizon Institute. - Dean asked Dr. Roe if we could use his class for this.
As of 12/21 HR was to make an offer for the position that they are requesting but haven’t heard back yet and they have interviewed 7 people.

    STUDENT SERVICES CENTER
Dr. Bevill would like to have some guidelines set up since she is new and Michele is new. Internships - Dr. Bevill stated that it is going well. She has met people through the Chamber of Commerce and the Chairs have helped in placing individuals.
International Programs - The Costa Rica trip is back on the agenda. The deadline was December 15th and there wasn’t enough response so the trip was going to be cancelled. The deadline was extended to January, therefore; when Clint gets back it will be decided whether the trip will be cancelled or not. Only 8 students are enrolled and he needs another 8.

    RECRUITING
There isn’t a lot going on for this semester. Only looking for one or two outside people. Dean Duggar’s focus should be on the Capital Campaign and The Horizon Institute unless the committee feels otherwise. Also, getting a new COB building is a real concern at this time.

    SAS
Dr. Seydel - need to find out what training everyone wants. Mark will be happy to promote this training within the business community. Where is this going to be, is parking going to be an issue? Dean Duggar feels that summer is the perfect time to look at this type of training. SAS does this in order to sell their software so if they can acquire some big customers, it would be great for them. Dean Duggar feels the banks would be great for this.

Dr. Seydel has a student that would like to participate in the exchange program at the University of Caen. Should he send the student to Dean Duggar and Dean Duggar said yes. We can exchange graduate or undergraduate students. Students can work as work study students and money can go towards their tuition. Anna is charged against us at the undergraduate straight rate.

Dean Duggar asked Dr. Roe about the Project Management Concentration and Clint Relyea and Dr. Roe have discussed this.

    Meeting adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
