STUDENT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Dr. Replogle reported on this new committee which just
formed in January, 2003. This will become a button on
the new COB web site.
These sites will be on the COB web site: Internships,
International Travel and Study, Student Professional
Organizations, Professional Certification, Professional
Speakers, etiquette dinners, Toastmasters Club Career
Planning and Student Services. Dr. Replogle showed the
committee the web site and what it will look like and
stated that this will be an ongoing project. Dr. Roe
thanked Dr. Replogle and Jeff Pittman for putting this
together and commented that the committee did a very
good job.
TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE
The COB Student Infrastructure needs were presented
to the committee today (Elvin – student presented).
Dr. Seydel and Kris Williams put the requests together.
The question was asked as to how much money was available
and that information wasn’t given at the presentation.
Comment was made that at $4 per credit hour per student
– approx $1M dollars should be available. Dr.
Roe thanked Dr. Seydel and Kris for putting this report
together. Also, Dr. Roe commented that three other colleges
asked for the same type of equipment that we did and
there hadn’t been any discussion between colleges
regarding this.

CINCO de MAYO
Comment was made that Hispanics are allowed to attend
K-12 but cannot attend a University if they do not have
a green card. Carleen would like to have volunteers
to man the COB booth. There will be Nagaritas (virgin
Margaritas) served. Purpose is to recruit Hispanic students
to the College.
Need volunteers to staff the Business Expo on Wednesday.
GRADUATE ASSISTANTS AND TEACHING ASSISTANTS
Dr. Roe – the push is on by Dr. Allen to make
greater use of teaching assistants – clear definition
of graduate assistants and teaching assistants. The
pool of money is going to be distributed between these
two staffing needs. There will be a meeting on Thursday
morning – number of courses to teach, stipend
will be attached to that etc. Redoing the formula as
far as what the graduate assistants have been allocated
in the past. Hopefully, Thursday morning Dr. Roe will
have questions answered regarding this issue.
GOLF TOURNAMENT
Alan commented that there aren’t any professors
signed up for the tournament.
On 5/28/03 – “Community Leader and Your
Role in the Community” conference to be held at
the Convocation Center.
Meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
Next scheduled meeting scheduled for April 28, 2003
at 3:30 p.m. in the COB Conference Room BU105.
