AACSB CONFIRMATION OF REACCREDITATION
Dean Duggar received a faxed letter from AACSB this
afternoon regarding approval of the Board of Directors
of our reaffirmation of reaccreditation. A copy of the
letter was given to all the committee members. Dean
Duggar stated that we will go forward on publication
of our reaccreditation.
COB SCHOLARSHIP EMERALD GALA
Carleen Marburger discussed the COB Scholarship Emerald
Gala that is scheduled to be held on Thursday, March
7th with the Jim Johnson Orchestra. It was also discussed
that SWAFAT is the 6th – 9th of March in St. Louis
as well. Carleen is working on getting some publicity
and Dean Duggar will be on the radio, Diana Davis show,
etc. and we will advertise in the Jonesboro Sun. Carleen
stated that there are some nurseries that will donate
some greenery and shrubs for decorations. Outreach Committee
has not met yet (they are meeting on Friday). Carleen

AARON LUBIN, SPEAKER AEXECUTIVE COACHING@
Dr. Roe discussed the upcoming speakers series in which
Aaron Lubin, President of Aaron Lubin Associates will
be speaking on March 5th in Museum Room 182 in the Library
on AExecutive Coaching”. We are inviting the public
to attend and will be getting some publicity out for
this. He would encourage faculty and students to attend.
Barry Melancon, President of AAICPA will be here on
March 27th and Dr. Roe and Dr. David Boyd are working
together to get him to do a breakfast talk and give
CPE credit for this.
GOAL STATEMENTS
Dean Duggar asked how everyone was doing on their goal
statements and everyone stated that they are getting
these together.
Information for evaluations should be ready the week
of the 21st when the productivity reports are due.
NEXT YEAR=S BUDGET
Dean Duggar feels the budget cut would need to come
out of salary, such as, not hiring people. Dr. Wyatt
wants a 2% reduction in the COB. This would be about
$100,000 in our college. This would impact the students
in course offerings. This reduction would be for the
coming year and based on this year=s budget. This year
we cut $62,000 out of $5 million which is about 1.2%.
The only way Dean Duggar feels that we can meet the
2% reduction is to not renew one of our one year faculty
contracts or maybe two.
Dr. McDaniel put together a committee to put priorities
on budget cuts. Maybe cutting $62,000 from the graduation
ceremonies.
Russ Jones discussed with Dean Duggar some MIS Courses
that he would like to move forward even if the MIS Master=s
Degree is not in place. Dean Duggar told Dr. Seydel
he would like Russ to go forward with the courses and
get them in the catalog.
CHANGING DATES OF PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Dr. Boyd had informed Chris that he could not attend
the meetings due to his class meeting at 2:00 p.m.,
therefore; he asked if the committee meetings could
be changed. Dr. Ford has class scheduled at this time
as well. Dr. Frey stated that his department could appoint
someone to stand in for Charles Ford for the time being
and Dr. Washam agreed he could do this as well.
Dr. Bevill discussed prerequisites. She is working
on a short presentation to faculty in March regarding
prerequisites. Get the word out to the advisors as well
regarding pre-requisite rule. Dean Duggar asked Carleen
to emphasize in the Student Newsletter that

prerequisites are required and are being enforced.
Dr. Replogle is not clear on what pre-requisites are
being enforced. Dr. Bevill stated that maybe departmental
curriculum committees should revisit course descriptions.
Dean Duggar stated that we all agree that we need a
transition period to get everyone in sequence. If prerequisites
are being enforced, enforce them, if not, then get rid
of it. If there are exceptions, what are those exceptions.
Dr. Frey feels that by January of next year we should
have the prerequisite down and not have to make exceptions
by that time. High schools do not require computer proficiency
before graduation.
Dr. Seydel stated that those students that are not
in compliance, they are recommended to drop the class,
but if they are in the class they can take it. However,
in the Fall, no exceptions.
DELTA CENTER
Mark Young had no new business to report
Carleen commented that she is sending a letter to past
scholarship recipients regarding the COB Scholarship
Emerald Gala since they were scholarship winners, then
maybe they would like to give back to the college.
