ORAL
COMMUNICATION SKILLS include
word choice, grammar, sentence structure, eye contact,
use
of media, correct outline
for type of presentation, establishing rapport with
audience, and proper use of gestures and mannerisms.
LEVEL
1
Students will demonstrate
ability to speak clearly using appropriate grammar. Examples:
answering/asking questions in class, making short comments.
LEVEL
2
Students will demonstrate
the ability to answer/ask/discuss more complex issues.
Example: students might defend or compare or explain
or debate or discuss with more detail/knowledge.
LEVEL
3
Students will demonstrate
ability to make a short presentation of 3-5 minutes.
Examples: informative, demonstrative, or persuasive speeches
such as sales presentation, presentation to client, proposal
to colleagues.
LEVEL
4
Students will demonstrate
ability to make longer, more complex presentations of
5-10 minutes. Examples: include some type of technology
media such as visuals, multi-media, handouts. |
