Course: Advanced Data Base Concepts

Catalogue Description of Course: Continuation of MIS 2403 and extends the coverage of SQL using a popular DBMS. Topics include client applications, object-oriented database development, and data security. Prerequisites: MIS 2403. (S)

Overview of Course:

Through class lectures, written homework and student team presentations of current relevant literature either distributed in class or available on the World Wide Web, the students will become familiar with advanced topics in data base such as described below. This course will provide more extensive knowledge of the tools and techniques used in analysis, design, and implementation of database systems. The student is expected to write and present a paper on a topic in any of the areas of advanced data base of the student's selection.
