CREDIT BY EXAMINATION

MIS is a technical field, and many people have achieved portions of what we offer in our curriculum through on-the-job experience.  If you have experience in a particular area of IT (e.g., in networking or programming) or if you have received training in some other manner, you may also have received industry certification through Microsoft, Novell, Cisco, CompTIA, or some other vendor.

Recognizing this, ASU is now offering "Credit by Examination" to students who have passed certain IT certification exams.  Taking advantage of this opportunity would both exempt you from taking certain required courses and provide you with college credit for what you have learned through experience.

The courses currently eligible for credit through certification, along with the corresponding certification exams, are indicated in the following tables.  To apply for credit for certifications you've earned, as well as to obtain further information, please stop by the Economics & Decision Sciences office (BU 302).
