The ASU College of Business has reorganized as of January
30, 2008. The CIT Department and the Accounting Department
are now administratively combined, and Professor
Tina Quinn will be serving as chair of both
departments.
Congratulations to the five CIT faculty members who have

Eight CIT faculty members have recently been awarded 13 major grants,
both internal and external, for consulting, research, training, and/or

Amer Dalain, from Damascus, Syria, is ASU's first Fulbright
grantee and he has chosen the MSISeC program for his graduate

Ritter Communications has endowed a $10,000 scholarship fund
for CIT students interested in telecommunications-related

ASU, led by the CIT Department and the Computer Science
Department, has been named
Novell's first Linux Center of Excellence. This means,
among other things that
We are recognized nationally as Novell Academic
Training Partner.
Professor Russ Jones, CNI (Certified Novell Instructor) will
lead the effort to infuse Linux/Novell content into our
curriculum.
We will be adding a Linux course this spring, to be
supported by lab that is being converted to the Linux platform.
Training in conjunction with the
Delta Center will be held to enhance the professional development
of our faculty and to assist area IT professionals with the
migration to open source computing.

At their May 10 meeting, the ASU Board of Trustees approved
the reorganization of the College of Business. That
reorganization eliminated the old department structure and

Management & Marketing
The CIT faculty conducted an on-campus retreat April 27 to
begin the strategic planning process. A SWOT analysis was
conducted, and numerous ideas were developed for shaping the new
department.
