Farhad Moeeni, Director of the AutoID Center
Professor Moeeni has been with Arkansas State University for fifteen years, having come here from the University of Arizona, where he received his Ph.D. At Arizona his major coursework was in Operations Management, and his supporting coursework was in Management Information Systems. Professor Moeeni has an MS in Industrial Engineering from Arizona, and he has undergraduate degrees from Arizona State University and the Tehran School of Business Administration. His primary responsibilities at ASU involve teaching MIS courses and conducting research associated with supply technologies. Since 1997, Professor Moeeni has been involved in AIDC research, in particular as it applies to supply chain management. He developed the first course of its kind, an AutoID class, offered initially during the fall semester of 2000. In conjunction with his research and teaching, Professor Moeeni has been instrumental in acquiring substantial grants, both monetary and in-kind, from various organizations involved in AIDC. Professor Moeeni has been actively promoting the importance of automatic identification (auto-id) technologies among business schools through articles and conference workshops. He is currently the primary investigator of a multi-university project in Identity Management.
