of Hytrol Conveyor Company, Inc. and serves as the Chairman
of the company's Board of Directors. He was born in Milwakee,
Wisconsin and graduated from West Allis School. He began
his career as a draftman for Allis Chalmers while attending
a local college in Wisconsin. Mr. Loberg opened a small
machine shop with a friend and this helped to satisfy his
desire to build things. He managed to invent several devices,
but in 1947 Les Jarlsburg requested that Mr. Lobert build
him a conveyor to aid in stacking sacks of seed allowing
for more efficient use of floor space. He was successful
in creating a conveyor that is now named Ole # 1. After
building that initial conveyor, Mr. Loberg began manufacturing
conveyors to meed the specific needs of his customers and
quickly realized that he needed someone else selling the
conveyors while he concentrated on manufacturing them. This
was the birth of the distributor network that has grown
from one distributor in Chicago, Illinois to 63 distributors
with 22 operating internationally representing 13 countries.
Mr. Loberg has built a company on the philosophy of fierce
dedication to that distributor network and to its customers.
His company in the number one manufacturer of conveyor hardware.
Hytrol has grown from employing 26 people when it moved
to Jonesboro in 1962 to more than 725 people being part
of the Hytrol family today. He has made a tremendous impact
on Jonesboro and Northeast Arkansas by providing quality
employment within our region. Mr. Loberg and many of his
staff have provided vision and support to the continued
economic development that we enjoy in our region today.
